A workshop focusing on wildlife management during a drought, including factors affecting wildlife because of drought, will be held on Wed., Oct. 7 at the Devine Community Center, 200 East Hondo Avenue, in Devine, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The drought has had a devastating impact not only on the crops and livestock in Central and South Texas, but the wildlife have been impacted by lack of food and water. This workshop will provide information on balancing deer habitats and numbers, address range recovery from drought, as well as current issues and topics important to deer management. The Alamo Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Texas/Mexico Border Coalition CBO and Texas AgriLife Extension Service, are hosting the meeting.
