Planning is well under way for AGRItunity 2010, the annual conference and trade show designed to meet the needs of farmers large and small, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010.

This year the popular event will be returning to its original venue at the West Central Florida Agricultural Center near Bushnell, Fla. The AGRItunity 2010 planning committee has designed educational sessions along with trade and equipment show exhibits of interest to agricultural producers of the region.

The educational program will start off with a general session featuring a successful central Florida producer and chef that focuses on grass fed beef and poultry production along with Agritourism.

The livestock breakout session will cover topics such as pastured poultry production, grass fed beef production and marketing, preventative horse health care and pasture management, while the crops session will concentrate on subjects such as peaches and other stone fruit, successful heirloom vegetable production systems, basics of bee keeping and food safety considerations for small scale fruit and vegetable producers.

Once again, a trade show featuring products and farm equipment for the small and large Florida farm will be a highlight of the program.

Registration for attendees is available on line at http://sumter.ifas.ufl.edu and over 4,000 direct mailings to farm families in the west central Florida region have been sent. Anyone interested in further information or being placed on the contact list for registration materials, as well as companies or other groups interested in being a sponsor or exhibitor please contact:
