The 13th annual Delta Classic Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at the Helena Country Club in Helena, Ark., Aug. 3. The annual golf classic is a fundraiser for undergraduate scholarships for students in the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

The four-man scramble event begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. Johnny Roach of Monticello will prepare a play-through barbeque lunch.

Teams must pre-register to participate. Participants are encouraged to register early.  The cost is $500 per team. Teams may register online at http://cses.uark.edu/5973.php. To request a brochure about the tournament, contact Joda Parent, (479) 575-2347, or [email protected].

Team, hole, and corporate sponsorships are available. Corporate sponsors of the 2011 tournament were Allen Canning Company, Arkansas Farm Bureau, Isle of Capri, Crop Production Services, Helena Chemical Company and Monsanto.

Delta Classic scholarships of $2,000 for the 2012-2013 school year have been awarded to Christian Bloodworth, Michael Fogleman and Matthew Moore of Marion; Haley Higgins of Gilbert, Ariz.; Taylor Ibbotson of Lonoke; Quentin Nichols of Gideon, Mo.; Eliott Pruett of Summers; and Tim Yeldell of Conway.
