Does your accounting software offer an app to track expenses? Tracking business expenses on-the-go can save you time and headache. It is much easier to track an expense, mileage or take a photo of a receipt at the time it occurs, rather than a collection of papers piled up in your glovebox.

Here are five mobile apps that can help you track business expenses:

1. Expensify is available on Apple and Android devices, and promises expense reporting that is hassle-free. Expensify allows you to manage how expenses are reported, who approves them and how you can export that information to send to your accounting software. While the mobile app is free, the service itself costs $5 per user per month.

2. inDinero offers accounting, taxes and payrolls all in one solution. The app is free in iTunes, and while there is a free option that allows for a limited number of transactions, the overall cost varies depending upon the size of the business.

3. Expense IQ allows you to keep track of daily expenses on your Android device. You can track all types of expenses, plan and manage budgets, set reminders, and export data to import into your accounting software. The app itself is free, but you can purchase an upgrade to the Gold version using in-app purchases.

4. Concur is a service that offers management tools for expense tracking, travel reporting, invoicing and a mobile app to monitor it all. The app is free on Apple, Android, Windows and Blackberry, and the service is available for as little as $8.00 per user per month.

5. BizXpenseTracker includes expense tracking and reporting, and allows you to export data into a spreadsheet format. The app also offers PDF reports and templates. The app costs $6.99 in the iTunes Store. Add-on purchases for $1 can incorporate Dropbox and OCR (optical character recognition).
