‘Don’t do what you’ve been doing,” weed scientist advises Iowa farmers

As resistance to glyphosate in Palmer amaranth has spread west and then north through the South, weed scientists in the Midwest have been advising farmers to make changes in their weed control strategies to avoid the same thing happening in common waterhemp in their region. One of those voices has been Dr. Mike Owens, Extension weed scientist at Iowa State University. Owens was interviewed following the recent Respect the Rotation Field Day conducted by Bayer CropScience at Iowa State.
