Land is selling with vigor. According to BigIron Realty, a local county appraiser recently remarked that land is holding steady unless it is sold on an online auction, in which case it is selling higher.

Low-interest rates and an increase in farm income from a combination of government payments, COVID-19 payments, good yields and improved grain prices make it a good time to sell.

Northeast

Pierce County. A total of 160 acres sold for $440,000. This is a moderately rolling irrigated farm with good soils. According to the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District, this property has 132.87 certified irrigated acres. However, there is no well on the property, and no irrigation equipment was included in the sale. — Compliments of UFARM Real Estate

South

Gosper County. A total of 480 acres sold for $2,600,000. This is a productive pivot-irrigated and dryland farm. The farm is in an excellent water area, located in the Tri-Basin NRD, and there are no water restrictions on this land. Southwest Kansas

Ford County. A total of 162 acres sold at auction for $348,300. This is a nonirrigated farm with high-quality soils and nearly all tillable acres. — Compliments of Farmers National Co.

Central Kansas

Rush County. A total of 315.1 acres sold at auction for $305,000. This property consists of high-quality, nonirrigated crop ground and pasture located just north of Lacrosse, Kan. Northeast South Dakota

Marshall County. A total of 150 acres sold at an online auction for $585,000. This farm comes with excellent quality soils. It has great crop acres with good drainage, is close to markets and has easy access. — Compliments of Farmers National Co.
