Combines and pickers continue to roll across the country, and as November dawns many respondents are still at work based on the latest Farm Progress PANEL question.

The question this time out: Harvest may not be finished where you are, let us know how it went or is going? We wanted to anticipate the range of answers. And while USDA offers its own crop progress report, we figured getting some news from our own readers would be interesting too.

In this report we'll work up to the biggest group of respondents. At the lower end, just over one-tenth of respondents have reported that they finished harvest early thanks to dry weather in their part of the country. At harvest time, a lingering drought that speeds work is about the only good news you can get there. How that impacted yield is a different story – and news from a future panel.

The second group, at 16% report they've finished right on time. And based on some Twitter reports for #Harvest21 those reports are good news. Intermittent rains didn't slow these producers as they worked to bring in this year's paycheck.

Sadly, most respondents this time out are not finished. Nearly three-quarters of those responding report that wet weather has slowed their harvest. The soggy field images that have appeared in social media, and reports of multi-inch rains are parking combines across the country, slowing this year's fall work.

If a little dry weather can move in, we know those readers will jump in the cab and 'get 'er done' as the saying goes. Weather-related frustration is part of the farming job description, but when you're looking at a good crop, the urge to get it in the bin is strong. Be safe this season.

Thanks to everyone who responded to these PANEL questions.
