Grape Day is an opportunity for Central Valley growers to see and hear about research projects for San Joaquin Valley grape systems.Todd Fitchette
The Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center will host its annual grape day on Aug. 8 from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
There is no charge to attend.
Tours of research vineyards will begin at 7:55 a.m. with demonstrations on rootstock and trellising research; nematode problems in grapes; and a field demonstration of the “virtual vineyard.”
Classroom presentations will further discuss the “virtual vineyard, the impacts of plant growth regulators on Autumn King table grapes, grapevine mineral nutrition and mealybug control.
The Kearney research center is located at 9240 Riverbend, Ave., Parlier, Calif.
