Visitors to the fall Farm Shows got a good look at a range of tillage equipment for fall and spring work. Tools ranged from one-pass rigs that get your ready for planting to fast finishers to finalize tillage.

Tillage can take on many forms depending on where you farm. For those that choose to prep the seedbed with a little steel help, there are several approaches. The Farm Progress New Products team tackled the job of tracking down useful tools for you to use in your operation. We're sharing a collection of tillage tools they found at the 2014 Farm Progress Show.

This is the first of several galleries we'll be featuring from the team in a format that allows you to peruse the tools and seek more information from the companies presented. The range of tillage makers selling in the United States keeps expanding as the need for proper seedbed preparation remains important depending on your soil type.

Check out the tools the team has gathered here, click the links for more information about each company's product. You'll find everything from two-pass machines to improved disks for enhanced residue handling. And with rising amounts of field residues, you'll find that tillage makers are doing their best to make sure material flows through the machine as you pull it through the field.

The Farm Progress Show New Products team includes Tom Bechman, Indiana Prairie Farmer; Lon Tonneson, Dakota Farmer; Mindy Ward, Missouri Ruralist; and Josh Flint, Prairie Farmer. The team did a super job digging through every exhibit to find what's new, despite a show shortened by rain. In fact, they uncovered more than 200 new products and in the next few weeks we'll be sharing more in galleries for you to review.
