NMSU Regents approve Resolution supporting GO Bonds

Projects to include $25 million for renovations, modernization of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences facilities

New Mexico State University’s Board of Regents voted on a resolution to endorse and support General Obligation Bond D for higher education and B for libraries, coming up for a vote Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The projects in GO Bond D include $25 million for renovations and modernization of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences facilities at the Las Cruces NMSU campus; $1.7 million for Dona Ana Community College campus, $1.4 million for NMSU-Alamogordo, $1.6 million for NMSU-Carlsbad and $1.5 million for NMSU-Grants. GO Bond B includes funding for New Mexico academic libraries, including an estimated $610,000 for NMSU system libraries.

The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 9. Early voting at the county courthouse begins Tuesday, Oct. 9, with convenience centers opening Oct. 20 for the election Tuesday, Nov. 6. General Obligation bonds come before the voters of New Mexico every two years to support projects throughout the state. There is no tax increase associated with these bonds.
