Like many farm kids growing up, Eric Hosette aspired to be a volunteer firefighter. He was killed in the line of duty last week.

A U.S. trade delegation left for China yesterday, but it definitely wasn't the A team. One of the attendees is a Kansas farmboy, however.

A gun-making company in Iowa has a $25 million contract to make rifles for the Astonian military.

The U.S. has 60 national parks, and a congressman from Indiana wants his state to have the 61st.

In Mankato, Minn., a 99-year-old woman is grateful for Meals on Wheels. Not because she receives them, but because she volunteers to pack and serve them.
