Potential candidates are superb farmers, savvy businesspersons, excellent resource stewards and exemplary community servant-leaders. Farm size isn't a criteria.

The sooner, the better
Candidates need to complete applications by March 1. The MF application may be downloaded from American Agriculturist's website, farmprogress.com. It's posted in the left hand column under "More Farm Progress".

The Master Farmer award is co-sponsored by American Agriculturist and Cooperative Extension in the above-mentioned states. Since 1927, 669 men and women from the five Mid-Atlantic states have received this award.

From their ranks have come numerous state and national ag leaders and state agricultural secretaries. They also have the opportunity to join the Mid-Atlantic Master Farmers Association for unrivaled networking and encouraging higher learning at land-grant colleges and other educational institutions.
