The National Pheasant Fest 2007 is coming to Des Moines, January 19-21. The event is a trade show for pheasant hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts. It combines a national consumer show, habitat seminar series and a family event. It's the nation's largest event for upland hunters, sport dog owners and wildlife habitat conservationists.

Iowa has 103 PF chapters. Hunters and conservationists are welcome to attend the conference. There are two million pheasant hunters nationwide. Pheasants Forever has over 110,000 members nationwide and 21,000 in Iowa.

Bird dogs point toward Iowa

Pheasants Forever formed its first Iowa chapter in 1984. The organization has spent over $25 million on Iowa's wildlife habitat since then. Those dollars have completed 77,416 habitat projects in the state, which today are benefiting over 750,000 acres.

"Pheasant Forever members in Iowa are excited to showcase our habitat accomplishments," says PF's state president, Mike Schmitz, who resides near Greeley. "This will be a well-deserved celebration for thousands of members, landowners, hunters and natural resource professionals that have made a real impact for wildlife in Iowa."

The event is open to the public. For information go to www.pheasantsforever.org.
