The Seed Biotechnology Center at the University of California-Davis has released its 2017 Annual Report.

The 32-page booklet describes the center's activities and future plans. According to the university, the highlights include:

  • Welcome: The SBC Goes Global, by Kent Bradford (page 2)

  • Educational program highlights (page 5)

  • Outreach and public service highlights (page 11)

  • Research updates (page 21)

  • Partnerships for the Future: We can all be plant breeders now -- Or can we? by Gail Taylor, Department of Plant Sciences chairwoman (page 30)

According to its website, the mission of the Seed Biotechnology Center (SBC) is to mobilize the research, educational and outreach resources of UC Davis in partnership with the seed and biotechnology industries to facilitate discovery and commercialization of new seed technologies for agricultural and consumer benefit.
