Frontier Equipment introduces the new GX1117 Grinder Mixer to help producers save time, money, and effort when they mix their own livestock feed.

“Frontier's GX1117 Grinder Mixer makes quick work of feeding chores and helps customers improve their bottom line,” says Michael Horrell, Frontier marketing manager. “The new grinder mixer features a self-contained hydraulic system to drive all the feeding attachments and unloading mechanisms. This eliminates the need for drive belts, chains, and gear clusters that could possibly wear out over time and helps save customers money and lower their cost of ownership,” adds Horrell.

The GX1117 features a large 14-inch mixing auger and can be equipped with an optional weigh scale to ensure the feed is consistently and accurately mixed every time.

“The grinder mixer's 135-bushel capacity allows customers to mix fewer loads to feed their livestock. Plus, the GX1117 makes it easy for customers to load feeders or bins too thanks to its large unloading auger that swings up to 300 degrees that's controlled from the tractor's operator station,” says Horrell.

There are two electronic scale options that can be added to the GX1117 — the EZ2000, or the EZ3200. The EZ3200 scale is equipped with a horn to alert the operator when the proper amount of grain or supplement has been added to the mix.

The grinder mixer also comes equipped with a 21-inch wide PTO-driven hammer mill and eight-section banded v-belt for a positive drive. A quick-release pin lets customers disengage the mill when not in use. In addition, large heavy-duty 18-inch magnets help trap metal to prevent pieces from accidentally entering the mill. Other standard equipment includes lights, screen holder, hose holder, and a gravity-feed hopper for the hammer mill.

Customers who want to increase the versatility of their GX1117 may also add an optional swinging intake auger that's available. This hydraulically driven auger is 12 inches diameter, seven feet long, and can be operated at variable speeds from 0 to 175 RPM to make sure the mill operates at maximum capacity. The auger easily handles ear corn, shelled corn, and other grains with ease and simplifies the mixing process for customers.
