A new tillage tool from McFarlane prepares a smooth seedbed for planting, even in heavy BT cornstalks. The Reel Disk with its ultra-shallow concave disc blades loosens 2 to 3 in. of soil while leaving a firm seedbed. The disk's leading disc blades on 7-in. centers slice the residue. A rank of seven-blade, 18-in.-dia. spiral reels follows the discs. Next, a heavy-duty harrow with three-bar spikes firm and level the seedbed. And, last, a 12-in.-dia. rolling basket sizes dirt clods and firms the soil.

The Reel Disk is available in 14- to 35-ft. widths; prices range from $21,357 to $51,749. Contact McFarlane Mfg., Dept. FIN, Box 100, Sauk City, WI 53583, 800/627-8569, visit www.flexharrow.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 155.
