World Dairy Expo announces official judges for 2017

Expo will be held Oct. 3-7 in Madison.

World Dairy Expo has announced the eight judges selected to evaluate North America’s finest dairy cattle at the 2017 event Oct. 3-7. It will be the responsibility of these judges, with assistance from their associate judges, to place the more than 2,400 animals expected to be exhibited.

Nominated and selected by Expo’s dairy cattle exhibitors each year, the official judges for the 2017 World Dairy Expo dairy cattle shows are:

International Ayrshire Show: Allyn “Spud” Paulson, Arlington, Wis.
International Brown Swiss Show: Keith Topp, Botkins, Ohio
International Guernsey Show: Chris Lahmers, Marysville, Ohio
International Holstein Show: Adam Liddle, Argyle, N.Y.
International Junior Holstein Show: Lynn Harbaugh, Marion, Wis.
International Jersey Show: Mike Berry, Albany, Ore.
International Milking Shorthorn Show: Jack Lomeo Jr., Hermon, N.Y.
International Red & White Show: Chad Ryan, Fond du Lac, Wis.

For five decades, the global dairy industry has been meeting in Madison for World Dairy Expo. Crowds of nearly 75,000 people from more than 100 countries attended the event in 2016.
