Robotic milking systems and improvements remain at center stage. And, one of the biggest innovations, GEA's Dairy ProQ robotic rotary, is scheduled to be exhibited at New York Farm Show.

Robotic technology is transforming dairy farming in other ways, too. That's why the four major equipment manufacturers developing robotic tech will present their latest changes and new products at the show's Dairy Robotic Update session on Friday, Feb. 26. It kicks off at 1:30 p.m. in the Bistro Room of the Arts and Home Center.

Here's the line-up for each 30-minute session, plus a few clues on what'll be covered:

LABOR GAME-CHANGER: GEA's Dairy ProQ robotic rotary is now in the U.S. market.

* Lely: Regional Manager Alfred Kamps will be highlighting practical examples of Lely's "large herd concept", plus results from the company's first Vector Robotic Feeding System. Both have been "hot topics" recently with changing labor forces and related costs.

* AMS Galaxy: President Dennis Milhoun will cover the introduction of the new Cow Health Monitoring system being offered with the Galaxy Astrea 20.20 robotic milking system.

* GEA: Mark Reynolds, total solutions manager for GEA Farm Technologies, will share key details on the dairy industry's biggest game-changer – the Dairy ProQ robotic rotary parlor. In brief, each stall on the rotary has a robotic arm that disinfects udders, preps teats, attaches units, milks, post-dips and sanitizes after each milking.

* DeLaval: Jenifer Bannister, marketing coordinator for DeLaval Dairy Service at Castile, N.Y., will cover the latest upgrades to DeLaval's Voluntary Milking System and its teat spray robot, designed as a stand-alone unit to spray cow udders right after take-off at the end of rotary rotation.
