Western Kansas is getting ready for one of the largest single land auctions ever when more than 15,500 acres of land in four counties will be sold on Dec. 2.

The auction will be at the City Limits Convention Center in Colby and will be conducted by Farm and Ranch Realty, based in Colby.

The seller is NW Ventures, formerly known as Zweygardt Property. Land in Sherman, Cheyenne, Thomas and Wallace Counties will be sold in a multi-parcel auction in 50 individual tracts and will be sold in the manner that produces the greatest aggregate price.

Farm and Ranch Realty will conduct an informational meeting about the sale at the real estate offices in Colby on Friday night, Nov. 19.

All of the land is within a 20-mile radius of Colby and includes quarters, half sections, sections and contiguous tracts up to four sections in one location.

Because of the size of the sale, bidders are being warned that the auction may have to continue into Dec. 3.
