Family plays a major role in a cotton farmer’s success, according to the latest inductees into the prestigious list of High Cotton Award winners who singled out brothers, parents and spouses as key factors in the farm operation.

This year’s outstanding class from the four Farm Press coverage areas all credited family for their support and expressed a deep commitment to the cotton industry and agriculture.

At a time when many Americans are highly critical of “corporate farming” the winners

demonstrated that no matter how large the operation may be U.S. farms are still, by and large, family-owned businesses.
