Regardless of the acre — whether it’s light-water pivot irrigation, dryland or drip irrigation — there is a proven Deltapine® brand variety providing stable and consistent yield and fiber quality that fits those acres. Some of these varieties offer resistance to Verticillium wilt and bacterial blight. Newer Deltapine varieties offer resistance to both reniform and root-knot nematodes.

To accommodate the varying degrees of growing conditions and input thresholds across West Texas, Deltapine® has a pricing model designed to address different farmer budget levels while, at the same time, placing products on the farm that address growers’ yield and performance expectations. The Deltapine DryTough™ dryland cotton variety lineup is an excellent example.

“Each season, many West Texas growers are challenged to grow a productive cotton crop while managing difficult planting conditions and limited water availability, which can mean additional risk to an operation,” said Matt Peeples, area business manager for Deltapine. “To help growers manage risks, Deltapine created the DryTough variety lineup — cotton varieties that have demonstrated consistent performance in dryland conditions and on the toughest acres this region has to offer. These proven varieties are priced for the low-input acre.”
