Marc Lewkowitz is the new president and chief executive officer of Supima, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Lewkowitz previously served as Supima’s executive vice-president for the last 12 years developing the Supima brand.  He succeeds Jesse Curlee, who recently retired after 36 years with the organization.

Supima is a Phoenix, Ariz.-based cotton organization representing the producers of American Pima cotton in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and the El Paso region of Texas. Supima also has offices in Fresno, Calif. and New York.

Supima licenses the Supima trademark to textile manufacturers, brands, and retailers. The organization has more than 350 licensees in 39 countries.

Lewkowitz, a native of Toronto, Canada, graduated from the University of Western Ontario and the Memphis Cotton Exchange International Cotton School. He began his professional career with a family-owned cotton gin in Paraguay, and later worked as a trader for ContiCotton, Merrill Lynch, Itochu Cotton, and Anderson Clayton/Queensland Cotton.

Marc and his wife Kathleen live in Phoenix and are the parents of two children.
