The Blackland Farm Managers Tour, one of North Carolina’s premier field days, is set for Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Tidewater Research Station in Plymouth.

This is the 44th annual Blackland Farm Managers Tour and organizers promise another full program for farmers in eastern North Carolina. The field day gets underway at 7 a.m. with registration, exhibits and breakfast. It concludes with lunch at 1 p.m. After the field day, BASF will host its  “On Target Application Academy.”

The tour will be in the “new ground” section of the research station. So after turning on Research Station Road, go under the Highway 64 overpass and follow the road and signs to the south end of the station.

The latest information on corn, soybean and cotton production will be presented, including insect and weed control options. Topics will include fertility issues, varietal  selection and high yield strategies.
