Syngenta is rolling out a new spring wheat variety for the Northern Plains. SY Valda is a semi-dwarf hard red spring wheat with a strong disease package, including tolerance to stem and leaf rust, tan spot and Fusarium head blight, the company says.
A new hard red spring wheat is being introduced by Syngenta.
"The basis of the AgriPro breeding program has been providing growers with high protein varieties like SY Ingmar and SY Soren, and now we have a new high yield variety like SY Valda, which is very exciting to complement the program," says Corey Dathe, Syngenta's Northern Plains cereals key account lead. "SY Valda has a nice mix of top-end yield potential and excellent agronomics, plus standability. This has extended green leaf duration, allowing for maximum yield, making it one of the highest yielding varieties we have seen to date. The yield results we saw this past season were phenomenal."
Other AgriPro brand hard red spring wheat varieties for the Northern Plains include SY Ingmar, SY Rowyn, SY Soren, SY Tyra, SY605 CL, Kelby, Jenna and Brennan.
