There is a sign inside Summit Lake State Park in eastern Indiana that says “Road ends in water.” Only it’s technically not correct. The road ends about 50 feet from water. Close enough? Hopefully, you are a better driver than that!

Carma and Bruce Foster recently spotted a similar sign … who knew there could be two of them? It says essentially the same thing: “Warning — road ends in water.” Only this time, Carma reports, the sign is telling the truth. This road really does end in water.

Don’t worry. You’re not likely to come upon it late at night while out driving. It’s a road within the Salamonie State Park Recreation Area near Lagro, Ind. To be more specific, it’s within the Mount Hope State Recreation Area near the Salamonie Reservoir.

Maybe the yellow lights attached to the sign are a clue that it is real. Or maybe bigger, rectangular signs carry more weight. At any rate, Carma says this one is worth heeding!
