File storage and sharing services not only allow you convenience access to your files, they also provide the ability to transmit files or provide access to folders of files to your colleagues. As an added benefit, you no longer need to travel with external storage devices as a backup. Many of these services sync your files between the cloud, desktop computers and even your smartphone. Here are seven free file sharing services to help you with collaboration and organization in your smart office:

Google Drive offers up to 15 GB of free online storage as well as free browser-based office and design programs. Paid plans start at $1.99 per month for 100 GB, $9.99 per month for 1 TB and are available up to $299.99 per month for the 30 TB plan. Google Drive also allows teams to collaborate on files.

Box offers a free personal plan of 10 GB and a pro plan for up to 100 GB for $10 per month. Business plan amenities vary depending upon need. They also offer enterprise accounts.

MediaFire’s basic storage plan gives you 10 GB free; however, downloads are ad-supported. The pro plan costs 1 TB for $4.99 per month and up to $49.99 per month for 100 TB. They do offer discounts for annual billing.

OneDrive works across all devices and integrates with Microsoft Office. It is free for up to 5 GB of storage, $1.99 per month for up to 50 GB of storage and 1TB for one user for $6.99 per month with Office 365 integration.

Cubby offers 5 GB of storage free with their pro version cost at $6.99 for 100 GB up to $174.75 per month for 2.5 TB. Cubby offers pre-paid annual discounts.

Dropbox basic offers 2 GB of space free, but is not integrated with any software. You can add up to 1 TB for $9.99 per month, and unlimited storage for $15.00 per month. An annual subscription offers additional discounts.

WeTransfer allows you to send up to 2 GB of files free without creating a storage account. This service is ideal for sending file transfers. Their plus service offers file transfers of up to 20 GB and storage of up to 100 GB at $12 per month. They also offer a discount for annual subscriptions.

Interested in one of these services? I suggest that you try before you buy, and see what features you like best and those you can do without!
