A small plane carrying four members of a Kansas ranch family crashed Monday night in Nashville, killing all on board.

The victims were identified as pilot 62-year-old Glenn Mull and his 63-year-old wife Elaine, their daughter 40-year-old Amy Harter and 16-year-old granddaughter Samantha Harter.

A spokeswoman for the family, said Mull owned Mull Farms and Feeding in Pawnee Rock, about 15 miles southwest of Great Bend, Kan.

They were traveling to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Trade Show in Nashville when their Gulfstream 690C crashed Monday while trying to land 10 miles south of John C. Tune Airport in Nashville, where it was scheduled to land around 5 p.m. They had taken off from the Great Bend Municipal Airport.

An eyewitness told fire officials that the plane made a hard right bank before hitting the ground, missing all the buildings in the area, including a YMCA building and a retirement home.

"That tells me the pilot did one hell of a job protecting lives," District Fire Chief George Hickey told CNN affiliate WTVF.

The cause of the crash was not clear.

A moment of silence and prayer was held of the family during the opening session of the Cattle Industry Convention on Tuesday afternoon.
