Farming innovator and machine manufacturer Lely opened a new business hub and complex in Pella, Iowa, to help dairy and livestock operations make innovative improvements toward efficiency.

“Our theme is ‘Building Tomorrow Together,’” Chad Huyser, president of Lely North America, said at the opening of the facility. “With this expansion, Lely will be able to significantly increase its production capacity in order to meet the growing needs of our North American farmers.”

The growing needs of the consumers around the world means farmers have to continue to raise more food in a sustainable way, and Huyser said Lely has a commitment to helping the next generation be even more efficient, while being able to enjoy farming.

Lely is based in Maassluis, the Netherlands, but has a presence around the world. The new Pella, Iowa, facility will assemble robotic milking and feeding equipment. The company currently employs 60 people at the location with plans to increase there and throughout North America.
