Farmers and agribusiness representatives can learn about the hay market, forage production and management, and grazing management at the Forage Technology Conference at Michigan State University Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center as part of Agriculture and Natural Resources Week.

Registration opens at 9 a.m., March 11, and the program begins at 10 a.m. Morning sessions will cover the hay market, alfalfa weed control strategies, roughstalk bluegrass and producing forage on farms as well as custom harvesting.

Following lunch, participants can choose to attend sessions focused on forage production and management or grazing management.

The production and management session will feature Dan Hudson, Ph.D., answering questions about best candidates for cover crops. A two-year study comparing teff, brown mid-rib Sudan grass, German millet and pearl millet will also be featured.
