The second Georgia Peanut Workshop will be held Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Weir Center in Douglas, Ga. The workshop will open at 8:30 a.m. with growers being able to visit peanut equipment companies, chemical companies and related industries booths at the workshop.
The workshop speakers will begin at 9:10 a.m and end at noon with a sponsored dinner and time to again visit with peanut sponsors' booths.
Speakers and topics include Peanut Disease and Fungicide Update — Bob Kemerait, University of Georgia Extension pathologist; Peanut Herbicide and Weed Control Update — Eric Prostko, UGA Extension weed scientist; Peanut Insect and Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus Update — Steve Brown, UGA Extension entomologist; Peanut Fertility Update — Glen Harris, UGA Extension agronomist; Peanut Varieties and Management for 2006 — John Beasley, UGA Extension peanut specialist; and Peanut Market Update — Tyron Spearman.
