In a broadcasting career your voice isn't always at it's optimal performance. During a Chicago bulls game in late 1993, Max damaged a vocal cord. An audio laryngologist suggested he could fix it, but Max would be hoarse. He was approached to do a Ford truck spot with the raspy voice. It was recorded for playback during the winter olympic games, during the skating performances between Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding.
