Max Armstrong says the Organic Trade Association is sharing good news about how well organic sales are going and there is no doubt-- they are doing well.
John Chapman, head of the organic association says the organic industry has proven it can withstand short economic storms.
There was a four percent growth in sales-- up from 2021-- that's two times the pace of growth from 2021.
In 2021, there was $62 billion in organic food sales.
In non-food organic sales, there was $6 billion in sales which is linens and clothing.
When it comes to organic produce, there was $22 billion in sales-- that's 15 percent of all fruit and vegetable sales in the USA.
Organic beverages also showed a 4 percent in growth in 2022 which resulted in $9 billion in sales.
The third biggest area of growth for organic sales was diary and eggs with 7 percent growth from 2021.
