Max Armstrong looks at the continued purchase of farmland by international buyers, but there’s new attention to the issue, especially by China. Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., has introduced a bill called the Prohibition of Agricultural Land for the People’s Republic of China Act, prohibiting purchase of U.S. land by anyone associated with China. Max also shares insight of another bill that would prevent China, Russia, Iran and North Korea from acquiring farmland by purchasing or leasing. Max shares what land is already owned by these interests.
