The fashion conscious used to ask if it was appropriate to wear white after Labor Day. Money managers may be wondering if it’s time to throw a little green around too. Funds showed new interest in some commodities, thanks to a weak dollar and hopes global growth and fixing hurricane damage could spur need for metals and energy.

Here’s what funds were up to, according to Friday’s Commitment of Traders report from the CFTC, which covers trading through Tuesday, Sept. 5, when data was collected.
