Crop markets scramble higher as heat wave looms

Spring wheat has double-digit gains. (audio)

Corn, soybean and wheat markets are higher today as the summer’s first heat wave is forecast to start this weekend. Highs in the Midwest are expected near 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot weather should last through early next week.

Weekly export sales for corn and soybeans were down from a week ago and missed trade forecasts.
