Farmers need more certainty in estate tax planning — Part 2

Congress made significant changes to the laws governing gifts, estates and generation-skipping transfers in the legislation passed by Congress late last December. Dr. Neil Harl, who published the first edition of his popular “Farm Estate and Business Planning” in 1973, worked to get all of the changes incorporated into the 16th edition of the book, which became available in June. Dr. Harl discussed some of the changes in the tax laws in this interview with Farm Press editor Forrest Laws.
