App Update Includes Rainfall AlertsApp Update Includes Rainfall Alerts

I love the weather. Particularly when it's nice, but I'll take any weather. I especially like knowing what's coming my way. My phone has a weather app, and I also downloaded the weather app from The Weather Channel (link for iPhone). I use both daily. That's why I'm excited about a new feature in the FarmLogs app that gives you weather alerts. Yes, we can all see what's coming, but to have an alert pop up on your phone would be really handy, and just kind of cool.

Here's what the new Rain Alert feature on the FarmLogs app does:

  • Alerts farmers about rain by exact location (within a couple of meters)

  • Notifies farmers about the possibility of rain down to the minute (up to 60 minutes in advance)

  • Pushes notifications (including vibrations, tones, pop-up alerts)

  • Tells how heavy the rain will be

  • Is on the mobile app on either iOS or Android phones

Sounds good to me!

Download the iPhone app.

Download the Android app.

FarmLogs is also offering a completely free version of its software, as well as new paid plans. The free plan includes so much, it's really a cool app for farm management. Just downloading the app to your phone or accessing it online, you get activity logging, inventory tracking, crop planning, baic wather and new features includeing the Rain Alert and Automatic Crop History.

The paid plans range in cost from $29 to $79 and allow for multiple users.

So, go ahead and download the app and let your smartphone use its brain. I'm all for something that will take some stress out of my life, or simplify my day. And if I can do it from the palm of my hand while anywhere (the tractor cab, my home desk, waiting in line for a movie), even better!

If you've downloaded the app, let me know what you think of it. Leave your comments below (please!). And, if you're using other farming apps that make your life and job easier, let me know. I'd love to check them out and share them with everyone.
