The Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council is seeking nominations of dairy herds with outstanding reproductive performance for its 2016 Reproduction Awards program. The awards program, now in its 10th year, recognizes dairy operations for excellence in reproductive efficiency and exemplary management practices. The awards program encourages high performance and fosters exchange of successful management techniques.

Many variables are evaluated to assess an applicant’s overall reproductive efficiency, one of which is a dairy’s annual 21-day pregnancy rate. Last year’s award winners had pregnancy rates between 26% and 39%.

Dairy operations must be nominated by professionals who serve the dairy industry, such as veterinarians, extension agents, A.I. and animal health company representatives, plant and co-op field staff, consultants or others. Nomination forms are due by April 30 and may be completed online or mailed to the following address:

DCRC
1800 S. Oak St., Suite 100
Champaign, IL 61820

Judges will review applications and select the top herds, who will be asked to provide additional information about their operation. This information will help program judges select Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze winners. Award recipients will be honored at the 2016 DCRC Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ohio, November 10 – 11.
