The LSU AgCenter will host three workshops in early 2017 to help educate farmers, agriculture consultants and other industry professionals about sustainable irrigation practices for row crops.

The LSU AgCenter will host three workshops in early 2017 to help educate farmers, agriculture consultants and other industry professionals about sustainable irrigation practices for row crops.

Each of the daylong workshops will include presentations by experts from the LSU AgCenter, the Southern University Ag Center and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. They will also feature panel discussions by farmers about their irrigation experiences.

Dates and locations are as follows:

  • Jan. 17, LSU AgCenter Red River Research Station, Bossier City.

  • Jan. 25, LSU AgCenter Tom H. Scott Research and Extension Center, Winnsboro.

  • Feb. 14, LSU AgCenter Avoyelles Parish extension office, Marksville.

The workshops are made possible by a grant from the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
