A bigger bale chamber, a beefed-up frame combine to make for added capacity with greater density for higher productivity.

Case IH is rolling out the LB434XL which is a 3x4 large square baler that helps high-volume hay and forage producers cover more acres per day. The machine has a higher capacity with a greater bale density. When paired with a Puma or Optum tractor, the baler produces consistent, uniform bales acre after acre.

The new baler has ISOBUS 3 capability, which allows the baler to speed up and slow down the tractor for optimum operation in the field. That capability is also coming to the companies large round balers (see next slide).

As for the LB424XL, the baler is beefed up with a more rugged frame. The bale chamber is 31.5-inches longer and this 31% increase over the current LB434 balers delivers 10% higher bale density. Greater density means more crop per bale, decreasing bale count and reducing handling, wrapping and production costs.

ISOBUS 3 Feedrate Controll tech makes the dense, well-formed bales even with inexperienced operators behind the wheel. The system works with an ISOBUS Class 3 compatible tractor, including the Optum. The new baler also comes with AFS capability built in; and the AFS Pro 300 or 700 control center display monitors can bale weight and moisture while detecting misties in real time – even at higher speeds.
