A big outdoor event offers a lot to see and do, and all of that is from the ground. But for 2018, visitors can buy the ability to get above the crowd with a helicopter ride. SummerSkyz, a flight service from Illinois, kicked off the helicopter ride service during the 2017 Farm Progress Show and the program is back for Boone.

Amy Summers, with SummerSkyz, notes that "we'll have two Robinson R-44 ships at the site." This is a four-passenger helicopter model, and with two on site, wait times will be kept to a minimum.

The rides will be offered during normal show hours, weather permitting. A helicopter ride is a smooth way to get above the crowd and see the scope of the event.

Aerial images of the show have long been popular because farmers want a better understanding of the layout for the event. With SummerSkyz, a seven-minute ride above and around the site will show off the location in a way never seen before.

The rides will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The rides will start and end at the East side of the show site. The ride will cost $50 per person.

SummerSkyz offers a range f services to customers including, but not limited to, flight training, corn pollination, aerial photography, sight-seeing flights, and ball and candy drops. You can learn more at summerskyz.com.
