Reinhardt’s schedule includes many official appearances during the year, including over 20 parades throughout Michigan, most often riding on the Pioneer Sugar float. Reinhardt, the daughter of Marc and Jodi Reinhardt of Sebewaing, is a 2014 graduate of Unionville-Sebewaing Area High School. She currently attends Saginaw Valley State University, majoring in marketing and minoring in finance with the intent to become an insurance agent.

Also crowned that evening was McKenzie’s court. Crowned as first runner-up is Megan Bajena of St. Louis, and second runner-up, Candice Neering of Bay City.  They will accompany McKenzie in many parades and other personal appearances.

Bajena, 18, is the daughter of Scott and Carmen Bajena. She recently graduated from St. Louis High School and will be attending Delta College in the fall, majoring in crop & soil science and minoring in agri-business.

Neering, 19, is the daughter of David and Jackie Neering.  She is a recent graduate of Bay City Central High School, and will be attending Delta College this year majoring in dental assisting with the intent to become a dental assistant.

The Queen Scholarship Committee selected 13 candidates for a personal interview before three judges. The judges selected are from areas of media, grower family and company personnel.  The Scholarship Committee said it was difficult to choose the top three because all of the interviewees were well suited for the honor.

Michigan Sugar Company sponsors the Michigan Sugar Queen competition with the company and grower-owners providing the queen with a $2,000 scholarship for use at the university of her choice. The first and second attendants are each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
