FUN FUNDRAISER: The Ohio Cattlemen’s Foundation is hosting a gala and sporting clays event to benefit its youth scholarship fund.

The registration window is narrowing for the Cattlemen’s Gala Celebration and Fundraiser and sporting clays event hosted by the Ohio Cattlemen’s Foundation. The event is Aug. 26 in the Marysville and Delaware areas, with registration closing Aug. 14. Tickets will not be available at the door.

Ohio’s cattlemen have a lot to celebrate. The daylong festivities support the foundation’s youth scholarship fund, benefiting the next generation of beef industry leaders. The day will start with a sporting clays shoot, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring individual and team competition to support the cause. Lunch will be included for participants.

Following the shoot, OCA will hold a Summer Business Meeting at Leeds Farm in Ostrander to discuss proposed amendments to the OCA bylaws. The business meeting is free to attend and open to all OCA members.

Later that evening, attendees can gather in their boots and hats for dinner, drinks and dancing in the barn at the first Cattlemen's Gala Celebration and Fundraiser also at Leeds Farm. The evening will feature live music from the John D. Hale Band, a nationally known Red Dirt music group from Missouri. Gala attendees will receive reception appetizers, drinks, dinner and live entertainment. Silent and live auctions will be held during the evening to support youth scholarships. Items will be available for viewing online beforehand at ohiocattle.org.

The events are open to all, and discounted rates are available for attending the entire day, or individuals can select to attend the Sporting Clays Shoot or Cattlemen’s Gala.

For more details on the day’s events, registration and hotel information, visit ohiocattle.org or contact the foundation at 614-873-6736.
