Missouri State Fair Presale Tickets Available

Fair Fans can order event tickets early.

Individuals who signed up to become a Missouri State Fair Fan have access to concert tickets starting today.

At 9 a.m., presale event begin through Ticketmaster for tickets to Montgomery Gentry and seven other concerts scheduled for the August Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.  Fair Director Mark Wolfe announced that the presale event will be available June 5-14 to members of the Fair Fan email list.  Anyone can subscribe to the free list at mostatefair.com/become-a-fair-fan.

“Like most concert venues, the Missouri State Fair has a fan club email list and offers its members an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance,” Wolfe said.

Before June 5, Fair Fan members will receive an email from the Missouri State Fair with instructions for ordering tickets during the presale event.  Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, June 15, through Ticketmaster.com, and at noon Monday, June 25, at the Missouri State Fair box office in Sedalia.

The State Fair Pepsi Grandstand concert series will include notable artists like Montgomery Gentry, Justin Moore and Jake Owen.  The long-time favorite Montgomery Gentry will play Saturday, Aug. 11 in a show opened by classic rock band 38 Special, with tickets starting at $25.  Montgomery Gentry has been nominated for the 2012 CMT Music Awards “Duo Video of the Year;” which will be announced on the awards show scheduled to air June 6.  Another country star making headlines, and performing at this year’s State Fair Saturday, Aug. 18, is Hank Williams Jr. and his “Taking Back The Country Tour.”  Williams has a new single, “That Ain’t Good,” featured on a new album, “Old School, New Rules,” scheduled for release July 10.  Opening for Williams will be classic rock legend George Thorogood and the Destroyers, with tickets starting at $30.

Wolfe said, this year’s grandstand lineup offers a diverse mix of entertainment, including a party band concert Tuesday, Aug. 14, “Where the Action is Tour,” starring Paul Revere and the Raiders with special guests Gary Lewis and the Playboys.  Tickets for this show start at $15.  Also, a comedy show featuring Larry the Cable Guy with Reno Collier will keep attendees laughing Friday, Aug. 17, with ticket prices starting at $25.
