University of Minnesota Extension is offering 11 small grain winter workshops across the state in January and February to discuss small grain production.
Topics to be discussed include production agronomics, variety selection, disease identification and fungicide use, soil fertility and grain quality.
Meetings will be held at:
Morris — Jan. 20 (combined with private pesticide applicator training recertification)
Ada — Jan. 22 (combined with private pesticide applicator training recertification)
Warren — Jan. 23 (combined with private pesticide applicator training recertification)
Roseau — Jan. 24 (combined with private pesticide applicator training recertification)
Rochester — Feb. 17 (private pesticide applicator recertification precedes the program)
Le Center — Feb. 18
Cold Spring — Feb. 19
Mora — Feb. 19 (lunch not provided)
Granite Falls — Feb. 20
Slayton — Feb. 20 (Murray county crops program precedes the small grain program)
Benson — Feb. 21
Registration is free and includes lunch at most locations. Organizers ask that you register at least five days prior to the event you plan to attend to help with meal and program planning.
