Falling water tables and rising energy costs are putting many growers in a dilemma: Delaying irrigation could reduce yields, but starting too early runs up costs. Cotton producer Chris Bush has been participating in a Mississippi State University irrigation study that indicates one well-timed irrigation may produce the highest yields. Bush discussed the results of the two-year study in a presentation at Cotton Incorporated’s Crop Management Seminar.
