Multi-tactical approach to plant bugs

Cotton farmers have eliminated the boll weevil from most of the U.S., but another pest has moved in to fill the void. Tarnished plant bugs forced some Mid-South growers to make 10 to 12 applications of pesticides in 2009. Dr. Angus Catchot discussed some alternative approaches to controlling the pest during a presentation at the Beltwide Cotton Conferences in New Orleans.
