The Farm Rescue Foundation is raffling off a 5,000-bushel hopper bin this summer. The raffle will raise money to support Farm Rescue. A non-profit, Farm Rescue plants and harvests crops for farm and ranch families who are experiencing a financial or health crisis. It has helped more than 530 farm families since its inception in 2006.

“[Farm Rescue] is something I never thought I’d need,” says Russell Carlson, a farmer in Jamestown, N.D. But in 2011, he fell from a ladder and was paralyzed from the waist down.

Farm Rescue helped Carlson harvest his wheat crop, and provided him with a tractor lift so he could continue farming.

“It’s unbelievable and hard to explain how good it feels just to get out there and feel useful again,” Carlson says.

You can support Farm Rescue’s work by buying raffle tickets for the hopper bin drawing. Visit, or call 701-252-2016 (ext. 1). You can also contact one of the 20 FFA chapters or 14 sponsors that are selling tickets and supporting the project.
