Now that crops have emerged, farmers are heading back out to the fields to scout for weeds. As you scout, why not let your smartphone do some of the work? Using the Ag Weed ID mobile app, you can ID weeds on the spot using photos and get control tips.

Ag Weed ID is available, and FREE, for iPhone and Android. Users select from a variety of inputs to narrow their search, including: season, location, crop and weed type. Results offer weed names that can be narrowed down.

For example, searching for June, Minnesota, soybeans and broadleaf weeds, results show 21 weeds and 63 photos. Users can remove certain weeds from the results if they're sure those aren't in question. Then you can scroll through the photos. When results match what's in your field, you tap, "That's it!"
