The Texas Agri-Life Research Center at Halfway, Texas, will host a subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) field day August 25th.
Morning tours run from 9:30 to 11:45. Morning topics include corn breeding for drought tolerance and corn management in the corn SDI management segment.
Cotton SDI topics include cotton varieties, irrigation levels and plant populations; irrigation termination, irrigation frequency and intervals; SDI uniformity; germination issues; SDI system layout and configurations; cotton varieties for SDI; varieties, irrigation levels and plant populations; and varieties suited to SDI.
An afternoon tour from 1:45 to 3:00 includes fertilization with SDI, row width orientation, water quality concerns, irrigation scheduling, irrigation tools, and irrigation methods.
Pre-registration by August 20 is required for the catered lunch. Registration begins at 9:00 am.
